电子通信包含了视频音频系统(video-audio system)、微波系统(microwave systems)、卫星系统(satelite system)、移动无线电系统(mobile radio system)、雷达系统(radar system)、纤维光学系统(fiber optics system)、电脑联网(computer networking)、数码与多媒体通信系统(digital and multimedia systems)。数码电子技术(Digital Electronics)、CAD、微处理器技术(Microprocessor Technology)、仪器仪表与测量(Instrumentation &Measurements)及电磁(Electromagnetic)等被纳入为电子工程的核心课程。此科系的学生主修通信电子,主修学科如:电信交换系统(Telecommunication Switching System)、微波工程(MicrowaveEngineering)、电讯科技(Telecommunications Technology)等。除此以外,学生必须参与工程工作室以掌握实验研究知识及安全步骤。此科系培育了专业、有能力和知识丰富的通信电子工程师以应付竞争力强的工业要求。
