此科系的存在是为了要栽培出一批能高度掌握电脑科
学，特别是资讯工艺及通讯知识与技巧的毕业生。通过此科系，学生将学习如何把把电脑系统人性化。人造智慧的 运用范围相当广泛。其中包括角色扮演又或者是与电脑下棋这种类型的电脑游戏。此
外，人造智慧也被运用保安系统方面， 拥有人造智慧的保安系统将有能力辨认外来的言语指示及声音或画 面。机械人发展业和汽车业也融入了人工智能。
